Why do Personal Training for Strength and Fitness?

  • Strength training (sometimes called Resistance Training) is a great way to help your body improve its functional performance through your daily life – enabling it to move better, with more control, more power, and with less effort whilst gaining strength and muscle tone. Who doesn’t want to be able to move well into their latter years and be strong?

  • Strength training builds and maintains muscle mass which is important throughout life but especially as we get older and can help increase bone density which is very important as we enter peri-menopause and menopause. We naturally lose muscle, a process called sarcopenia. Regular strength training can slow or even reverse this loss. It can also reduce low back pain and discomfort from arthritis and fibromyalgia.

  • Muscle burns more calories: Muscle tissue burns more calories than fat tissue, even when you're resting.  Strength training exercises help build muscle mass, which increases your BMR.

  • Helps increase metabolism and along with a healthy diet can help with weight management.

  • Strength training can help increase self-confidence and cognition levels, and decrease feelings of anxiety and depression.

  • Will improve your overall Cardiovascular health and fitness.

  • Beneficial for your Flexibility and mobility: By incorporating stretching, yoga, or Pilates into your routine.

  • Will help with your Balance and coordination: Helping to enhance functional movements that support everyday activities.
